Details
Extron MP 101 (part number 60-718-10) — a single-channel microphone to line level preamplifier in a one-eighth rack chassis, for rooms where a bare microphone has to feed a line level input.
A microphone output is roughly 60 dB below what a switcher or mixer input expects, and bridging that gap with a passive adapter simply buries the signal in noise. The MP 101 provides between +25 dB and +72 dB of adjustable gain with an equivalent input noise floor below -126 dBV, so the lift comes without hiss. A 75 Hz low cut filter rolling off at 18 dB per octave clears stage rumble and handling noise before it reaches the amplifier. The balanced input arrives on a 3-pole 3.5 mm captive screw connector at 2k ohms, and the balanced output can drive above +25 dBu into a high impedance load.
