Extron MDP-HDMIF/6 (part number 26-679-06) — a 6 ft (1.8 m) active adapter cable that ends in an HDMI female connector, supplied with a male-to-male HDMI coupler and a LockIt Plus lacing bracket.

The female termination is the point. Instead of forcing the installer to reach a fixed HDMI plug into a recessed input, this cable presents a socket that a standard HDMI cable plugs into, and the included coupler covers the case where a male end is required after all. Because a coupled joint is exactly where a cable tends to work loose, Extron ships a LockIt Plus bracket with the coupler so the junction can be laced tight. Active circuitry at the Mini DisplayPort end performs the conversion; the cable runs source to display only and must sit directly on the source output.
