Extron IN1608 xi (part number 60-1238-81) — an eight-input, HDCP-compliant presentation switcher that combines scaling and DTP twisted pair extension in one 1U frame.

This is the standard IN1608 xi model: no integrated power amplifier and no embedded control processor. Four HDMI/DVI inputs and two universal analog inputs cover local sources, while two DTP 330 ports pull in remote laptops from a lectern, credenza or wall plate. Three outputs run simultaneously — two HDMI plus one twisted pair port that can be set to DTP 330 or HDBaseT — so a projector, a confidence display and a remote flat panel can all be driven from the same chassis. Extron EDID, HDCP key management and fast-switching technologies keep protected sources coming up cleanly.

The IN1608 xi suits boardrooms, divisible training rooms, lecture theatres, courtrooms and medical education suites — anywhere a rack-mounted switcher has to accept both legacy analog and current HDMI sources, then feed displays that sit well outside HDMI cable range. The DTP output is often used to reach a ceiling projector or a wall-mounted panel over a single shielded CATx run.
