Every FOX3 Matrix frame from the 40x through the 840x is assembled from individual 8-in by 8-out I/O boards, and this is the singlemode version, carrying 8 singlemode SFPs behind 16 LC connectors for long-haul fiber runs. Integrators add boards to grow a matrix from its base configuration toward its maximum size, or swap one in as a hot-swappable replacement for a failed board, without powering down the frame or interrupting signal routing on the remaining boards.
