Extron FOX T USW 203 SM (part number 60-1230-12) — three-input switcher with a local HDMI output and an integrated singlemode fiber optic transmitter.
The singlemode version of the USW 203 is built for distance. Two HDMI sources and one analog RGB source feed the switcher; the selected signal goes to a local HDMI display and, at the same time, down two LC fibers at 4.25 Gbps to a receiver as far as 30 km away. Extron states that this SM model works with singlemode as well as multimode fiber at 1310 nm. Analog video is digitised on board, stereo audio from a 3.5 mm jack is embedded into the optical stream, and RS-232 rides over the same fiber.
