Details
Extron FOX Matrix 320x (part number 60-1082-01) — a 17U modular fiber optic matrix switcher frame that scales from 16x16 to 320x320.
The frame is a card cage with twenty board slots. Each slot takes a 16-port FOX I/O 1616 card, so capacity grows a board at a time rather than by replacing the switcher. Multimode, singlemode and 3G-SDI cards can share the same chassis, which lets an 850 nm in-building link enter the matrix and leave it on 1310 nm singlemode bound for a site kilometres away. Four internal 400-watt supplies run in primary and redundant pairs and pull out from the rear without tools; the fans are hot-swappable too. Continuous self-diagnostics watch the boards, the fiber links, the supplies and the fans, and can raise SNMP traps or e-mail when an inbound link drops.
