Extron EWB 101 (part number 60-1161-02) — one-gang external wall box in black, for surface-mounting an Extron faceplate where there is no in-wall box.

Retrofits are where this part earns its place. Cutting a back box into a finished wall is disruptive, sometimes impossible on masonry or glazed partitions, and often outside the AV scope entirely. The EWB 101 avoids all of that: it fixes to the wall surface and gives a single-gang faceplate 2.50 in of depth to house its wiring. Knockouts on the box accept cable from a surface-mounted raceway or from the wall cavity behind, so the same box works whether the cabling arrives externally or from the rear.
