Extron DTP T DSW 4K 233 (part number 60-1487-12) — a three-input switcher and DTP transmitter that puts DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA sources onto one shielded twisted pair run.
Rooms rarely have just one kind of source. This model takes a DisplayPort 1.1a connection, a single-link HDMI 1.4 connection and an analog RGBHV feed on a 15-pin HD port, adds an unbalanced stereo audio input, and sends whichever input is selected out of a single RJ-45 jack as a DTP 230 output. Because the transmitter can push DC back down that same cable, a compatible DTP receiver at the far end does not need its own outlet — a real saving when the display is a ceiling-mounted projector.
Key Capabilities
- Three video inputs on one half-rack chassis: DisplayPort, HDMI with HDCP 1.4, and VGA through WUXGA.
- Digital inputs accept 2560x1600 at 60 Hz with reduced blanking, or 4096x2160 at 30 Hz; 4K and UHD at 60 Hz ride along with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.
- Data rates of 10.2 Gbps on HDMI and 10.8 Gbps on DisplayPort, each clocked to a 300 MHz maximum pixel clock.
- RS-232 and modulated IR from 30 kHz to 60 kHz pass over the twisted pair to drive the remote endpoint.
- Front-panel mini USB B and a rear RS-232 port for setup using Extron Simple Instruction Set commands.
- Contact-closure input selection and a tally output, both on 4-pole captive screw connectors.
Where It Is Used
A one-inch profile and half-rack footprint let this unit sit in a credenza, a lectern or an equipment closet. It fits boardrooms, classrooms, lecture halls, training suites and control rooms — anywhere a guest laptop, a resident PC and a legacy analog source have to share a display sitting at the other end of a long cable pull.
