Details
Extron DTP T DP 4K 230 (part number 60-1076-12) — a quarter-rack DisplayPort sending unit for DTP 230 twisted pair links.
This transmitter takes one DisplayPort source and packs its video, embedded digital audio, a separate analog stereo feed, and bidirectional RS-232 and IR control onto a single shielded twisted pair run terminated to TIA/EIA T568B. It is the sending half of a pair; the matching DTP R DP 4K 230 receiver is ordered separately. Because the link carries control and audio alongside the picture, a rack-room DisplayPort source can drive a remote display without pulling a separate cable for every signal type.
Key Capabilities
- Accepts one DisplayPort input on a female DisplayPort connector — DisplayPort 1.1a with HDCP 1.4 and 2.3, Single Stream Transport only.
- Carries up to 10.8 Gbps (2.7 Gbps per lane) with a 300 MHz maximum pixel clock on the transmitter side.
- Handles 4K 4096x2160 and UHD 3840x2160 at 30 Hz, or 2560x1600 at 60 Hz with reduced blanking.
- Adds analog stereo audio on a 3.5 mm jack — greater than 10k ohms DC coupled, -10 dBV nominal, +7 dBV maximum unbalanced.
- Passes RS-232 at 300 to 115200 baud and TTL-level IR from 30 kHz to 60 kHz through the shared 5-pole captive screw port.
- Draws 3.4 watts at the device and can be fed remotely inside a 12 watt remote power budget.
Where It Is Used
Fits boardrooms, lecture halls, classrooms, training suites, control rooms and medical imaging reading areas — anywhere a DisplayPort computer or player lives in a secured rack while the screen sits across the room. Convection cooling with no vents keeps the unit silent inside furniture and credenza installs.
