Extron DPM-HDF 4K PLUS (part number 26-712-01) — an active DisplayPort male to HDMI female adapter for signals up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4.

DisplayPort and HDMI are not the same signal wearing different plugs: DisplayPort is packetized, HDMI is TMDS. This adapter carries the active circuitry that performs that conversion, and it takes its power from the DisplayPort source rather than a separate supply. EDID, HDCP and audio all pass through, including 8-channel LPCM and HBR audio, so the source still negotiates properly with the display. Because the electronics are powered by the port, Extron specifies that it be plugged directly into the source output with no cables or adapters in between.
