Extron DA2 HD 8K AE (part number 60-1870-12) — a one-input, two-output HDMI 2.1 distribution amplifier that also strips the embedded audio out to a balanced analogue pair.
The AE suffix is the reason to choose this model over its sibling: alongside the two HDMI outputs there is a 5-pole 3.5 mm captive screw connector carrying de-embedded stereo audio, so a display feed and a separate path to a DSP or amplifier come out of one box. Bandwidth is the full 40.1 Gbps of HDMI 2.1 with a 2376 MHz pixel clock, which covers 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz, 4096 x 2160 at 12-bit colour, and ultra-wide formats out to 5120 x 2880. HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision pass through, as do HDCP 1.x and 2.3. EDID emulation holds 128 to 512 bytes across one to four blocks, and each HDMI output can supply 250 mA to a powered cable or dongle.
