Extron AXI 016 (part number 60-1690-01) — a 1U half-rack expansion interface that bolts sixteen analog line level outputs onto a DMP Plus Series DSP.

When a DSP runs out of physical outputs the usual answer is a second processor, which then has to be configured, clocked and kept in sync. This box sidesteps that. It connects to the host processor's EXP port over a short shielded CAT 6 link and simply appears as sixteen more outputs in the existing DSP configuration. Audio crosses that link uncompressed at 24-bit and 48 kHz on a proprietary transport, so there is no network to design and no latency budget to argue about. The sixteen outputs land on eight 6-pole captive screw connectors and can be used as sixteen mono feeds or eight stereo pairs, balanced or unbalanced.
