Extron 5.0 mm, 4 pole, black, no tail (part number 100-462-01) is the four-position replacement captive screw connector on Extron's wider 5.0 mm pitch, supplied ten to a package.

The 5.0 mm pitch exists for the heavier end of the system. Its terminals take much thicker copper than the 3.5 mm parts do, which is what amplified loudspeaker runs and DC power feeds need. Four positions covers a stereo speaker pair or a two-circuit power block. This one is moulded without a strain relief tail, so it stays short where the block is recessed or crowded. Conductors clamp under captive screws for straightforward field service.

Wiring Notes

Keep the exposed conductor close to 3/16 in (5 mm) as Extron advises for its captive screw terminations: longer runs the risk of two contacts touching, shorter lets the wire back out under load even when the screws are down. Leave the strands untinned - solder-coated ends lose their shape and the joint slackens as the install ages.
