Extron 3.5 mm, 4 pole, blue, no tail (part number 101-006-01) is the four-position, tail-free captive screw connector for Extron audio, control and power terminations, supplied in tens.

Four positions sit between the common three-pole audio plug and the wider five-pole control block, and they turn up on stereo unbalanced drops, dual-pair control ports and multi-conductor power feeds. This version omits the moulded strain relief tail, which keeps the overall depth down where the block is close to a chassis wall or buried in furniture. Conductors clamp under captive screws, so the plug can be re-landed without solder or crimp tooling.

Wiring Notes

Extron's audio connector wiring guidance calls for roughly 3/16 in (5 mm) of exposed conductor. Strip longer and neighbouring contacts can bridge; strip shorter and the wire may pull out even with the screws driven down. Leave the copper bare rather than tinned, because tinned strands lose their shape and slacken as the joint ages.
