The SM 28 carries an 8-inch woofer and correspondingly more mass than its smaller sibling, which makes a mount that holds its setting worth paying for. This yoke provides 180° of pivot travel divided into 10° detents — discrete, countable positions rather than a friction joint that drifts. That gives two practical wins on site: the aim decided in the first bay can be duplicated exactly in every following bay, and any speaker knocked out of alignment can be returned to its original detent without re-surveying the room. The yoke is fitted in conjunction with the 0° mounting plate that ships with the SM 28 as part of Extron's concealed mounting system, and it accepts wall mounting in either orientation as well as ceiling mounting.
