Thirty feet is where a single USB-C lead replaces an entire extension system. Because the high-speed lanes travel as light rather than current, the cable holds full DisplayPort Alt Mode bandwidth the whole distance, and because copper runs alongside it, power and USB 2 signalling behave exactly as a short cable would. Lane allocation is negotiated automatically — four lanes for 8K, or a two-and-two split for 4K with 10 Gbps of USB — and MST allows a single host output to feed more than one display.
