This is the short tail that lives in a floor box or on the end of a table cable, turning a laptop's USB-C port into an HDMI socket that any standard HDMI lead can plug into. Because the HDMI end is female, the long run stays a normal HDMI cable and only this six-inch piece has to be replaced when a laptop generation changes. It is the higher-capability of the two 6-inch models: 18 Gbps at 6 Gbps per channel, with chroma from 4:2:0 to 4:4:4 and colour depths of 8, 10 or 12 bits.
