Extron Surface Mount Kit (part number 70-977-02) — black replacement SpeedMount kit, sold as a pair, for the Extron SM 26 and SM 28 surface mount speakers.

This kit replaces the concealed mounting system supplied with the SM 26 and SM 28. Contents differ from the SM 3 version: here you get 0° mounting plates plus 10° mounting adapters, and the plates are designed to be fixed to wall studs or wall board. On the 0° plate alone the speaker sits flush with the wall and can be oriented vertically or horizontally, which matters when a cabinet has to work with a soffit line or a run of ceiling. Adding the 10° adapter to that plate introduces a 10° tilt, and the adapter can be indexed so the tilt goes down, up, left or right. The operational advantage is unchanged: the plate is wired at rough-in, and when the speaker is slid on it locks and connects simultaneously, with a lockable hidden release for later removal.
