Extron SSP 200 (part number 60-1658-01) — a surround sound processor built for pro AV, decoding Dolby and DTS soundtracks from HDMI to discrete balanced outputs.

Consumer receivers are a poor fit for an equipment rack: wrong connectors, wrong control, wrong form factor. The SSP 200 solves that. An HDMI input with loop-through passes 4K video straight to the display while the audio is decoded to ten balanced or unbalanced outputs on 6-pole captive screw connectors — left and right front, left and right surround, center and subwoofer, plus four assignable outputs for back channels, height pairs or a downmix. Coaxial and optical S/PDIF inputs and an analog stereo input cover the rest of the sources, and RS-232 or LAN control puts the processor under the room's control system.
