Extron SMK VRE 48 (part number 70-1267-48) — V-rail extension kit, supplied four to a pack, that lengthens the rails shipped with SoundField XD ceiling speakers.

Ceiling grids are not standardised. The V-rails packed with a SoundField XD ceiling speaker are cut for a 2 ft module, so the moment a project turns up with 4 ft (1.2 m) tile spacing the standard rails no longer reach the grid members and the speaker has nothing to bear on. The SMK VRE 48 closes that gap: each extension lengthens a supplied V-rail far enough to span the wider grid, restoring the intended load path. The same extensions also let an SMK C TB tile bridge assembly reach across 4 ft tiles. Four extensions come in a pack, which covers two speaker positions — two rails per speaker.
