Three gangs is where a single connectivity point turns into a working station: source input, control and power can all live in one shell. The SMB 213 measures 8.78 in. across and keeps the same 3.20 in. height and 3.22 in. depth as the rest of the SMB 210 Series, so it stays low even as it gets wider. Two separate cable openings on the underside split the load, and the rear slot runs the entire width for cable that has to travel flat to the surface.
