When a single table position has to carry video, audio, control, network and charging, four gangs is the size that fits without spilling into a second enclosure. The white finish keeps that much hardware visually quiet on pale laminate or painted joinery. Three cable openings in the base share the bundle, and because the box sits on the surface rather than in it, the furniture stays intact - which matters in leased space and in rooms with stone or glass tops.
