A surface-mounted panel always reads as an object stuck on a wall. The RWM 1 removes that: the box drops into a 4.15 by 6.07 inch cut-out, four locking arms clamp it against drywall between half an inch and one inch thick, and the touchpanel then holds to its face on magnets.
