Extron sizes the RSU 126 for 1U devices measuring 6 inches (15.24 cm) or 3 inches (7.62 cm) front to back. At the 6-inch depth it will carry two half-rack-width products, four quarter-rack-width products, or eight eighth-rack-width products; at 3 inches it takes up to eight eighth-rack or four quarter-rack units. Three front faceplates ship with the kit — one eighth-rack, one quarter-rack and one half-rack width — to close whichever openings your device mix leaves behind. The shelf can be turned to face the front of the rack or installed at the rear when the cabling is easier to dress from behind, which is what makes it the flexible choice for consolidating a lot of small Extron hardware into a single rack unit.
