Single-cable USB-C connectivity only works if the cable actually reaches the laptop. The XL housing stores enough of the blue ring USB-C Pro assembly for a 5 foot (152 cm) pull, which covers wide boardroom tables, tiered classrooms and lectern-to-table geometry. Video travels as DisplayPort Alternate Mode, data runs at USB 3.2 Gen 1 rates, and the same connector charges the device — no dongle, no second cable.
