Extron NetPA 204 POE (part number 60-2047-01) — a four-channel Class D amplifier that takes Dante or AES67 audio and its own operating power from one network cable.

The NetPA 204 POE removes the mains circuit from the equation. A single RJ-45 carries four channels of 24-bit Dante audio in and powers the amplifier, so it can sit above the tile next to the loudspeakers instead of in a distant rack. Output scales with what the switch can deliver: 20 watts per channel on 802.3bt PoE++ Class 5, 18 watts on 802.3at PoE+ Class 4, and 10 watts on 802.3af PoE Class 3, into 4 or 8 ohm loads. The housing is fire-resistant UL94V-0 metal and UL 2043 rated, and there are no vents — cooling is convection only.

Where It Is Used

Distributed audio where pulling a mains circuit to every amplifier location is impractical: classroom and lecture-hall ceilings, open-plan office paging, retail and hospitality background music, healthcare corridors and waiting areas, and campus zones fed from a Dante backbone. The plenum rating makes above-ceiling placement straightforward in return-air designs.
