Driving six DVI displays from one source is a handshaking exercise as much as a signal one. This amplifier holds a steady EDID conversation with the source through EDID Minder, so the PC or player boots at the intended timing and keeps it even if displays are switched off, unplugged or replaced. On the way in, the DVI stream is equalized for around 100 feet of Extron DVI Pro cable at 1920x1200 with 8-bit colour, then retimed and reshaped so accumulated jitter is stripped out before the signal is fanned to the six outputs. Each output additionally carries +5 VDC at 250 mA, sufficient to power a downstream equalizer or similar in-line accessory.
