Details
Extron DVI 104 Tx (part number 60-977-12) — the transmitter half of the DVI 104 fiber optic extender, sold separately for replacement or one-sided expansion.
Labelled TO COMPUTER on its top panel, this unit plugs straight into the source's DVI-D output and is held by thumbscrews. It converts single link DVI to four optical channels at an 850 nm peak wavelength and pushes them down 50/125 micron multimode fiber to a matching DVI 104 Rx as far as 500 m away. The side panel carries the recessed EDID Minder storage button, so the display's EDID lives here rather than in the receiver. Power can come from pin 14 of the source's DVI connector, though laptops and PCI-E graphics cards generally cannot supply enough and need the external supply.
