Extron DTP T HD2 4K 230 (part number 60-1491-12) — a quarter-rack HDMI transmitter that puts video, embedded audio and pass-through device control on one shielded twisted pair cable, with a local HDMI loop-thru kept on the front end.
A source that has to feed both a nearby confidence monitor and a distant display normally needs a distribution amplifier plus a separate control cable. This transmitter collapses that into one box. One single link HDMI input feeds an HDMI loop-thru output and a DTP 230 output at the same time. RS-232 and IR arrive on a shared 3.5 mm five-pole captive screw connector and ride the DTP link out to the receiver, where they emerge for control of the remote source or sink. A front-panel mini USB B port handles configuration through Extron's Simple Instruction Set and Product Configuration Software, and the unit can draw remote power from the far end within a 12 W budget.
Key Capabilities
- 1080p/60 travels 230 ft (70 m) on shielded twisted pair or XTP DTP 24 cable
- 2560x1600/60 and 4K/UHD at 30 or 60 Hz travel 130 ft (40 m) on the same cable
- 10.2 Gbps data rate, 300 MHz pixel clock, and 8, 10 or 12-bit color
- Simultaneous HDMI loop-thru output for a local monitor alongside the DTP output
- Bidirectional RS-232 from 300 to 115200 baud plus 30 kHz to 60 kHz IR pass-through
- Compact metal chassis at 1.0 in H x 4.3 in W x 6.0 in D, one rack unit high and quarter-rack wide
Where It Is Used
This is a workhorse for boardrooms, divisible meeting rooms, classrooms, lecture halls, training suites and control rooms where the source rack and the display sit at opposite ends of a structured cabling run, and where the same run has to deliver serial and infrared commands to the far end.
