Putting a source input at the wall normally forces a choice between a long, fragile HDMI run and a bulky surface box. This transmitter removes that choice. It accepts one single link HDMI feed (or DVI-D through an adapter) on a female HDMI type A jack, converts it to the DTP format, and delivers it to a DTP-compatible receiver or matrix across one RJ-45 terminated STP cable. Because the DTP link also carries remote power, the unit can run entirely from the powered device at the far end, so no mains outlet is required behind the plate. Output signaling can be set for DTP mode, which passes video, embedded audio and remote power, or HDBaseT mode, which passes video and embedded audio.
