At 50 feet there is no copper-only DisplayPort option worth specifying for 8K work, which is the whole reason this cable exists. Multimode optical fibers carry the four high-speed lanes; 24 AWG tinned copper carries the auxiliary and hot-plug channels. The result is a DisplayPort 1.4 link that holds 32.4 Gbps end to end with HDCP 2.3, HDR, EDID, CEC and 32 channels of audio, in a jacket just 0.18 in across. The plenum rating means it can be pulled above a ceiling grid, and because the electronics live in the connectors there is no power supply to find a home for.
