Details
Extron DMP 128 (part number 60-1211-01) — the base 12x8 ProDSP digital audio matrix processor: twelve mic or line inputs, eight outputs, automixing, in a 1U full-rack chassis.
Worth being clear about what this particular part number is and is not. The DMP 128 is the plain model in the series: it has the ProDSP engine, the automixer and the expansion port, but no acoustic echo cancellation, no Dante and no telephone interface — those are the C, AT and C P variants respectively. What it does have is a 64-bit floating point DSP engine feeding 24-bit converters at 48 kHz, twelve mono inputs (eight of them with switchable 48 V phantom power) that can be matrix mixed into any of eight output buses or into eight virtual buses for group processing first. The automixer runs gated or gain sharing modes across up to eight microphone groups. An expansion port links two DMP 128 units, or a DMP 128 to a DTP CrossPoint matrix switcher, over a single shielded CAT 6 cable.
Key Capabilities
- Twelve mono mic/line inputs; eight with +48 VDC switchable phantom power.
- Eight mono outputs, or four stereo, balanced or unbalanced.
- Input gain adjustable from -18 dB to +80 dB in 0.1 dB steps, per input.
- Automixer with gated and gain sharing modes across up to eight microphone groups.
- Expansion port carries 16 channels each way to a second DMP 128 or a DTP CrossPoint.
- Controlled by RS-232, Ethernet or front panel USB; configured in DSP Configurator.
Where It Is Used
Presentation systems in boardrooms, courtrooms and conference centres where microphone mixing and zone routing are needed but echo cancellation is not, because the room has no far-end conferencing leg. Also common as the local mixing engine in divisible spaces and lecture theatres.
