Details
Extron DDX 102 Tx (part number 60-1328-12) — the transmitter half of the DDX 102 fiber optic link, converting a dual link DVI-D feed onto multimode fiber.
Copper DVI runs out of headroom quickly, and a dual link 2560x1600 signal is the first casualty. The DDX 102 Tx accepts the DVI-D output of a workstation, camera or player and puts it on two multimode strands, where distance is limited by the optical budget rather than by TMDS attenuation. Because it is a transmitter, it must be ordered with a matching DDX 102 Rx receiver at the display end; this listing covers the transmitter only.
Key Capabilities
- Accepts one single link or dual link DVI-D input on a male DVI-D connector.
- Drives two multimode strands, 50/125 or 62.5/125 micron, through two female LC connectors.
- Spans 500 m (1640 ft) on 50 micron OM2, OM3 or OM4 fiber, or 300 m (985 ft) on 62.5 micron OM1.
- Handles 2560x1600 at 60 Hz over dual link and 1920x1200 or 1080p over single link.
- 10 Gbps of throughput at a 330 MHz pixel clock, held at unity gain.
- Consumes 2.0 watts at 5 VDC and can take that power from pin 14 of the DVI source.
Where It Is Used
Broadcast plants and production control rooms, medical imaging and surgical suites, air traffic and utility command centers, simulation and visualization labs, digital cinema, and campus installations where the DVI source and its display sit in different buildings.
