Its advanced design features a time-tested, high-pressure ionization chamber filled with 12 atmospheres of ultra-pure Argon, allowing it to accurately measure activities up to 6 Ci (250 GBq). Designed with user efficiency in mind, the CRC-55tR features a vibrant, menu-driven color touch screen interface. The custom interface allows users to select from over 80 nuclides by simply touching the nuclide symbol, and includes 28 programmable keys for rapid access to frequently used isotopes. Additionally, the system stores reference sources in its memory and automatically performs decay corrections for the current date and time, reducing manual calculations and human error.

To ensure consistent performance and compliance, the calibrator performs a suite of automated diagnostics and daily tests, including Auto Zero, Auto Background Adjust, Accuracy and Constancy, and Voltage Tests.
