The AccuVein AV400 is a handheld, non-contact vein visualization device that projects a real-time infrared map of the patient's superficial vasculature directly onto the skin surface. By detecting hemoglobin's differential near-infrared absorption, the AV400 highlights vein locations and bifurcations without requiring gel, contact, or patient preparation beyond standard positioning.
Weighing only 9.7 ounces, the AV400 is designed for one-handed clinical use across IV therapy, blood draws, port access, and pediatric procedures. It converts to hands-free mode with optional wheeled or fixed stands, and the center-line projection accuracy aids precise needle placement at depth. The unit requires no calibration and is easily cleaned with standard disinfectant wipes between patients.
