| The
Eizo ColorEdge CG220 is the industry’s first
LCD monitor to cover the Adobe RGB color space.
It encompasses not only the sRGB color space
covered by many standard monitors, but also
CMYK color spaces used for printing. Reliable
soft proofing is now possible, and with it a
more time- and cost-efficient workflow.
The extra-wide 22.2-inch screen supports 1920 × 1200 resolution (16:10 aspect ratio), meaning that it can display a two-page A4 spread with no clipped edges.
The
Eizo ColorEdge CG220 comes equipped with EIZO’s
newly developed ASIC (Application Specific Integrated
Circuit) which takes 8-bit data (256 tones for
each primary color) from the PC and converts
it to 14-bits (16,384 tones) and then back to
8-bits for an ideal gamma curve. This 14-bit
processing capability ensures extremely smooth
grayscale rendering even in typically problematic
dark areas of an image.
This
EIZO-developed software comes bundled with ColorEdge
models and offers 10-bit hardware calibration
when used with a GretagMacbeth measurement device.
Eizo
has discontinued production of the CG220. The
replacement model for this unit is the CG221.
